On October 20th, 10 confirmed tornados hit North Texas. The severe weather affected Dallas, Rockwall, Rowlett, Allen, Kaufman County, Ellis County and Van Zandt County and is estimated to have caused almost $2 billion in damages. The strongest tornado, an EF3, tore a 16-mile-long path from North Dallas to Richardson in just over 30 minutes and had a maxim estimated winds of 140 mph.
While no lives were lost, many schools, homes and business were damaged and/or destroyed. In keeping with the ULI brand promise of being a leader within the Real Estate community, ULI North Texas has begun collecting donations for the Communities Foundation of Texas Dallas Tornado Recovery and Relief Fund.
