As part of the What's New, What's NEXT Series, our curated panel of top Office professionals will discuss the trends anticipated in Office Real Estate, providing expert insights into the development, architecture, capital markets, and leasing of office buildings for the coming years.

    Douglas Jones

    Director , Cushman & Wakefield

    As a Director within Cushman & Wakefield’s Agency Leasing platform, Doug Jones is responsible for the leasing and marketing of prime office assets in the Dallas region. He creates value for his clients and supports his colleagues through market intelligence, prospect generation, reporting, and relationship-building with key tenant rep brokers. An experienced industry professional, Jones entered the commercial real estate field after serving as Infantry officer and Army Ranger.

    Josh Meredith

    Director, VanTrust Real Estate, LLC

    As Manager of Development for the Dallas VanTrust office, Josh’s primary responsibilities include the identification and evaluation of development and build-to-suit opportunities throughout the Texas markets. At VanTrust, Josh will leverage his experience in real estate economics and relationships in commercial real estate to coordinate with municipalities, negotiate leases and oversee architects, engineers, consultants and contractors. Prior to joining VanTrust, Josh was a Senior Financial Analyst with CBRE’s Capital Markets Institutional Properties Team in Dallas and Houston. Josh specialized in office and industrial institutional investment property sales. He also spent time as a Commercial Asset Analyst with Prescient, Inc. where he supported the FDIC Account in its management of properties acquired from failed financial institutions. Josh has a Bachelor of Science from University of Texas at Austin and is an active member of the Touchdown Club.

    Chris McCluskey

    Vice President of Development, VanTrust Real Estate, LLC

    As Director of Development for the Dallas VanTrust office, Chris McCluskey’s primary responsibilities include the identification, evaluation and execution of development and build-to-suit opportunities in VanTrust’s primary asset classes within the Texas market. Additional duties include coordination with municipalities, lease negotiations and management of architects, engineers, consultants and contractors. Prior to joining VanTrust, Chris was a Project Manager in the Land Development department at Jacobs Engineering. In his tenure there, he was responsible for the oversight and direction of engineering designs, due diligence, feasibility packages and completion of surveying services for a variety of product types. Chris has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University and a Master of Business Administration degree with a minor in Real Estate and Finance from Southern Methodist University. Chris is a licensed Professional Engineers in the State of Texas and is currently registered as a LEED Accredited Professional with expertise in the design and construction phases of green buildings

    Christopher Murphy

    Vice Chairman, Newmark

    As a Vice Chairman with Newmark Knight Frank, Chris Murphy specializes in investment sales of office and mixed-use product in the Southern United States, with an emphasis on the major Texas markets and Nashville. Chris is one of four experts in the institutional capital markets arena who joined NKF’s Dallas office in 2020 to expand its U.S. Capital Markets platform. The team is focused on bolstering NKF’s share of capital markets transactions in Texas, the central region and nationally and on building a best-in-class office capital markets practice for NKF in Texas. Chris joined Newmark Knight Frank after 10 years with HFF, and subsequently JLL after their acquisition of HFF in 2019, where his primary focus was on office and mixed-use investment advisory throughout the southern United States. Over the course of his career with HFF, he completed more than $10 billion in commercial real estate transactions with experience in all major property types and a focus on office investment advisory. Chris’ prior career experience also includes time at TRT Holdings and Duke Realty Corporation.

    Don Powell

    Principal, BOKA Powell, LLC

    Don Powell is a founding partner and design principal at BOKA Powell Architects, a nation-wide practice focused on corporate and commercial office, hospitality, and mixed-use projects. Don grew up in a family of builders outside of Indianapolis. More than four decades ago, Don relocated from the Midwest to Dallas and helped build the firm now known as BOKA Powell. His prolific body of work has encompassed tens of millions of square feet. Known within the industry as a mixed-use thought leader, his other noteworthy projects include NEC America’s Headquarters in Las Colinas, the Omni Dallas Convention Center Hotel and the 68 Acre mixed use campus in Plano known as Granite Park.
