    The Homebuilder World Post-Pandemic

As part of the 2020 LPC webinar series, CDC presents a panel of top homebuilders in DFW who will talk about the homebuilding business post the pandemic. Topics will flow from Home Sales and Traffic Generation to Home Design Shifts and Supply Chain Disruption as these industry leaders distinguish between the changes that are temporary reactions of quickly changing circumstances, and the changes that they believe will result in a true paradigm shift for the industry.

    Speakers

    Billy Shirley

    Perry Homes

Billy has been with Perry Homes for 14+ years and has worked in both the Houston and DFW markets serving as Vice President of Construction, Division President, and currently City President for Dallas/Fort Worth. After the acquisition of Scott Felder Homes Dallas in 2016 Billy took over the Dallas/ Fort Worth operations at the beginning of 2017 for Perry Homes. Since the acquisition, the Dallas/ Fort Worth market has gone from 5 closings in 2016 to 557 closings in 2019 with 2020 projections to exceed 600+. Perry Homes is a privately owned builder that does more than 3,000 homes per year with revenue more than $1.2 billion in all major Texas markets. Billy now resides in North Texas with his wife Joanna and two kids Parker (9) and Prestyn (2). In his free time Billy enjoys spending time with his family and friends, golfing, and fishing.

    Ryan Huey

    Taylor Morrison

Ryan has worked in the home building and residential development industry for 20+ years. Before joining Taylor Morrison & Darling Brands, he worked with several public builders. He spent a large portion of career with Metro Development, one of the larger private developers in Florida, and is extremely passionate about creating quality communities for internal and external customers. Ryan has been involved in investment of over one billion dollars on land as well as assessed and underwritten over 10 billion dollars. This correlates to around 40,000+/- purchased lots with significant time spent with various funding sources including traditional A&D banks, private equity groups, bondholders, etc. Each deal is unique and presents its own set of challenges and creative opportunities. Having moved to Dallas a little over 5 years ago, he's really enjoyed the challenge of learning a new market, making great new relationships & friendships in the development community, and growing the Taylor Morrison & Darling Brands alongside an incredible team.

    Don Dykstra

    President, Bloomfield Homes

Don has served as President of Bloomfield Homes since cofounding the company in 2004. Bloomfield Homes has grown rapidly since formation and will build approximately 1500 homes in 50 neighborhoods throughout the Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex this year. Builder magazine presented Bloomfield Homes the 2011 award for “Fastest Growing Private Builder in U.S.”. In 2013 and 2017 Don and Debbie sold a total of 65% of Bloomfield Homes to Sumitomo Forestry Group and Bloomfield Homes is now a consolidated subsidiary of this publicly traded (Tokyo Exchange) 300 year old forestry and homebuilding company based in Tokyo. Don spends most of his time on land acquisition and development and Bloomfield has accumulated a portfolio of approximately 12,000 lots to support future expansion. Previously, Don worked for Pulte homes for 16 years in California and Texas, and with EY & Co in Southern California for 6 years.
